An excellent grade of Japanese tamaryokucha tea from Miyazaki Prefecture, processed using the traditional pan frying method (kamairi) similar to traditional Chinese green tea processing. The Minekaori cultivar literally translates to 'mountain top fragrance' and this cultivar is ideal for kamairi type processing.
The leaves are gently twisted and give off a fresh, lightly roasted, sweetish aroma with a hint of coniferous forest. After infusion the aroma is fruity, woody and creamy-herbal. The palate is complex, pleasantly sweetish, with subtle umami combined with nutty notes and a long aftertaste.
