A premium grade of organically grown Gyokuro from the Kagoshima region made from Yabukita and Okumidori cultivars. The tea is produced by our friend, Mr. Sakamoto, who has been growing and producing exceptional teas organically for many years. In total, he produces four grades of gyokuro, of which Wakamushya occupies the second, "silver" place. This gyokuro has a great, balanced flavour with a full umami taste. Excellent, fresh gyokuro at a good price!
"Kuradashi" The leaves of Japanese teas rich in amino acids are left by some producers to mature for a few months (sometimes up to two years) from the time they were harvested. The aging process breaks down certain compounds in the leaves, which cause a grassy and bitter mouthfeel when consumed. The taste of tea aged in this way is deliciously rounded and pleasantly sweet.
Traditional, long infusion with 45°C water as well as a shorter brewing with 60°C water are also suitable for this tea.
Tea is available in limited quantity.
